Speaking & Events
Interested in having Maren speak at your event?
Maren enjoys sharing her love of stories and her fascination with living connected to a God who loves us. Maren speaks at faith-based gatherings and in secular spaces where nerding out on biblical literature seems like a fun idea. We’d love to answer your questions and share how to schedule Maren for your event.

Society of Biblical Literature - Not Just Isaac’s Wife: Rebekah as Chosen One
Traditionally categorized as a deceitful wife, Rebekah of Genesis has been easily disregarded. What happens, though, when we see her not just as wife, but as one who is in relationship with God? Her situation is a complicated one: she is given information from God regarding her sons, but is denied any instructions about what to do with it. I examined her from this lens, comparing her to the characters in Genesis who, like her, are given information from God, but not instructions.
This event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
